Christmas Mini Sessions

A couple weeks ago I released the details for our Christmas Mini Sessions!  Christmas is my favorite!  I LOVE giving and decorating and just everything about the Christmas season in general.  This year my Christmas Mini sessions will be held on November 11,12 and 18 in my in home studio.  You will have 2 backdrop choices available.  One is a colorful words on white wood and the other is a neutral beige with snowflakes banners (made locally by Empty Nest Home Goods).  I am super excited about this backdrop because it was a vision I had in my head made into a reality! I will of course have props available and this year I have a vintage wooden SLED! Scroll down to see my adorable models in both backdrops.

New Studio Set up!

I have some exciting news that has been a while in the making!  Ever since I found out I was pregnant last year I lost my indoor studio space because it became Mikaela’s big girl room.  So we began the process of moving all of my photography stuff into our garage.  When I first started taking sessions I set up in my living room and I knew I didn’t want to do that, especially with 2 kids.  Last winter it was in rough shape but since I am off school for the summer I took the first 2 weeks and slowly got everything set up!  I purged everything non-photography related and banished it to our basement.  So now I have an area just for photos!  I have enough room for 2 backdrops in your session and am working on getting a set up so that I can take larger groups of people (think families!).  Below are some photos of the new space!  If you had a Christmas session with me this is a total 180 and you will be amazed the next time you see it!

Did you know that I have dresses for your little one? I even have a few outfits for little men too!

My wonderful husband built this as a stand for all of my backdrops!  There’s already only 2 spaces left!

Welcome to the world Thea!

“The force is strong with this one”

I met Thea last Friday and let me tell you, the above quote could not be any more true.  She gave me a run for my money!  She did not like to be swaddled or put down and it took us an hour just to get one picture!  It took another half hour for me to get her to sleep but one she was asleep she was a dream!

Her parents are huge star wars fans and brought some of the cute props you see in the pictures below.  Newborns are one of my favorite ages to photograph because their little features change so quickly!  Little toes are precious and the love I see between newly made families makes the hard work worth it ❤ Thea I know your parents are just so in love with you, you are one lucky little girl ❤

Thea is my first milestone client and I can’t wait to see her grow throughout her first year!  The next time you see her will be when she is 6 months old!

CHHS Graduation

If you aren’t familiar with my day job, I am also a teacher.  I teach science at Canton Harbor High School, a community school in Canton. I teach kids aged 16-21 who have previously dropped out of high school or are behind in credits.  These kids are traditional students but that doesn’t mean I love them any less.

Many of them have been told they would never graduate and haven’t had anyone believe in them.  But when they come to us at Canton Harbor, they get nothing but acceptance from their teachers and peers.  These kids are so unbelievable and they have had so many struggles just to get where they are.  Most teens today take their high school diplomas for granted.  But not these kids.  Some of them are the first from their families to complete high school and many of them never thought they could finish their graduation requirements.

Last Friday I watched 50 (yes FIFTY!) Canton Harbor High School graduates receive their diplomas!  Just 2 short years ago when I completed my first year at Canton Harbor we graduated just 25 students and this year we DOUBLED that!  I am so INCREDIBLY PROUD of these students and I can’t wait to see what they do in the next phase of their lives!

The Ross Family

The Ross Family | Brunswick Ohio Photographer | Family Photographer

It’s been a while since I blogged.  So I figured why not jump right back in with my latest session?  This family of 4 is just so cute.  Being a mother of a 2 year old daughter, I don’t often get to experience boys.  These two boys were so great!  They were fascinated by the cicadas and had to pick up every one we saw (yuck!).  In between bugs and running we captured some great photos!  See a few of my favorites below!

My First Post!

Hello!  Thank you for visiting my BRAND NEW website!  This is something I have been considering doing all year.  Seeing my photography business grow and realizing how much I LOVE photographing special moments for my clients, I decided to take a big leap and make a website to help grow my business!  This is one of the MANY changes coming to Photographs By Erin this year (keep reading for the rest)!

I have been working on this project for over a month now.  I started the project just wanting to revamp my prices for 2016 (which you can find here) and remake my contracts and release forms (still in the works….this project overtook the forms on the to-do list!).  It soon turned into much much more and I am so glad it did!

If you know me personally then you know that I am a perfectionist!  I have worked very hard to try to make sure that anything and everything you could need to know about Photographs By Erin (but if there’s something you don’t see please let me know!).  A little about the website. . .  it has everything you need to know about my business.  All of my best work from this past year along with a lot of info about the types of sessions I offer (I am not limited to those types of sessions, those are just the ones I normally do).  There is a “Meet The Photographer” page where you can learn a little more about me and my family, as well as sections for pricing, specials, and a testimonial page.  And of course a section for this blog!  Please take the time to browse it and let me know what you think!

I want to celebrate my new website so I have a few specials I am running for the remainder of the month of January (in addition to my newborn casting call special).

  • 15% off all full sessions booked in January (can take place any time in 2016)
  • $20 print credit (good all of 2016) for any past client who fills out my testimonial form (found here) to help me build up some testimonials to display

I saved the biggest surprise for last!  A new website needs a new logo!  I went through a couple but ended on the one below!  Isn’t it beautiful?!?!?

new logo 1000x380

Again THANK YOU so much for visiting my page today and please come back next week when I reveal my new referral and loyalty programs!
